Come experience the magic and wonder of bubbles at San Antonio’s first ever Bubble Fest in CHRISpark, hosted by the Linda Pace Foundation with local non-profit Spare Parts. The family-fun event will take place Saturday, April 22nd from 10am – 12pm to increase creative and cultural awareness in San Antonio. During Bubble Fest, participants will create bubble makers inspired by artist Rivane Neuenschwander’s whimsical and ephemeral artwork. Bubble “stations” will be set up throughout the park to inspire play and activate the park as a visual art green and eco-friendly space. Guests will enjoy music and live storytelling with San Antonio-based acclaimed artist duo Hills and Caralyn Snyder.
The concept behind Spare Parts was developed in 2010 in response to a noted lack of creativity in the K-12 classroom. Inspired by her desire to make a difference, founder Mary Elizabeth Cantú’s “idea of providing cultural and environmental sustainability and affordability and accessibility to the arts through reuse education has a firm hold in the San Antonio area arts and education community” (La Prensa, «Five Years of Spare Parts and Fine Arts», 2015).
ADMISSION IS FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. Light refreshments will be provided.
CHRISpark is located at 111 Camp Street, San Antonio, TX 78204, in the heart of Southtown.
