No boundaries. No restrictions. No limits. No divisions.
On Friday, May 5th, SAY Sí’s graduating class of 2017 will present their senior thesis exhibition, “No Borders,” an introspective showcase examining their journey as artistic youth in San Antonio as they prepare to express and expand their talents across new communities.
To the class of 2017, “No Borders” refers to the absence of constraints on their artistic abilities, their persistence and their passions. SAY Sí as a community reinforces the importance of artistic significance and purpose. For their future, senior artists anticipate a continued push toward their individual vision and goals, challenging their boundless creativity.
For their final project, SAY Sí seniors have been given the freedom to determine their entire exhibition process. From conceptualizing the theme to promoting and fundraising, these teens execute every aspect of exhibition logistics under the guidance of their artist-educators and administrative mentors — a testament to the skills they have accumulated at SAY Sí.
In “No Borders”, SAY Sí seniors collectively showcase their diverse, multidisciplinary work exhibiting both portfolio work and new pieces created expressly for this exhibit — all representative of each artist. These include: paint, photography, mixed media, film, installation and other experimental processes. In addition, senior students in the ALAS Youth Theatre Company will present original theatre performances.
