VIVA FIESTA!!! We have been graciously granted the opportunity to host our first ever Fiesta de lo Ninos for the children of Respite Care at Davidson Respite House. So since we will be celebrating the day of the Fiesta Flambeau, the only way to go is BIG!!.. We are planning for a special performance hosted by a small Mariachi group (waiting for confirmation), a very special dance performance by Ballet Folklorico dancer, Kearsten Ortiz, who is donating her time and talent to entertain the staff and children for the day. A Fiesta Style menu consisting of Fajitas, Turkey legs, and gorditas, with guacamole, pico de gallo, funnel cakes, and possibly deep fried Oreos. Ay!
Our food will be prepared by a generous family, Mr George and Stella Rios, who will be bringing a very large trailer grill. All of the elements of a true Fiesta Celebration.
Keeping with our spring traditions at Respite, We will also be hosting Pony rides again this year provided by our friends with Pacheco’s Ponies. We are still waiting to hear back from DJ Taco but we have high hopes. We will be celebrating our April birthdays as well. We can’t forget our birthday buddies. I will have that information as soon as possible. I will keep everyone updated as the plans develop. If you have any fiesta decorations, beads, cascarones, papel picado, flowers, maracas, sombreros, sarapes, or anything you’d like to share to help decorate for the day, by all means, we would love to share.
Donations: Sponsors for food, Pico de Gallo, Guacamole or avocados (10), Lettuce (2heads), tomatoes (10), Sour cream (32oz), Cheese (1lb), Candy for the piñata, 4 gallons vegetable oil.
