The Little Mazarn is a winding finger of Lake Hamilton near Hot Springs, Arkansas. It is also the independent moniker of a music project by multi-instrumentalist, artist, and writer Lindsey Verrill. After 10 years in Austin playing with bands such as the Weird Weeds, the McMercy Family Band, Dana Falconberry and Medicine Bow, some say Leland, and many others, Lindsey returns to one of the first instruments she tried to play, the banjo. The project is an experimental departure from her roots in folk and gospel music, using the banjo as an electric texture for ambient song forms and soundscapes with a healthy nod to tradition as her voice is helplessly high and lonesome.
