During this nine week class, we will learn about the Desert Mothers or Ammas and will explore practices that their lives and sayings offer us. These women from the early centuries of church history guide us toward living authentically, with deepening love for our neighbors, God and ourselves. Sessions will include quiet prayer, teaching and group discussion. Though not required reading, we will be using The Desert Mothers: Spiritual Practices from the Women of the Wilderness, by Mary C. Earle to frame our class sessions.
