«Finding Comfort in Your Awkwardness»
You ever feel awkward? You ever wonder if your the only one like «this», feeling «that» way, with «those» thoughts?
Well, you aren't alone! In this writing workshop you will learn to embrace who you are
and how to articulate your amazingness. You are godly… So let's show you off!
This is an active writing workshop. Accessible to all (those who cannot use pen and paper are encouraged to bring iPads, tablets etc). The objective of this workshop is to explore identity and produce a piece of poetry for performance which celebrates the sense of self.
Six, Six Gawd if you're feeling fancy, is a 28 year old queer black poet, hailing from San Antonio, Texas. A lover of words, craft beer and women, not necessarily in that order. She writes for the same reasons a caged bird sings. She hopes that you might just listen.
A facilitator, as co-founder of No Tan Lines 2017, her personal practice is in encouraging specifically women of colour to «survive». Six Gawd introduces herself as a «survivor», and promotes «all women of colour are survivors, when we make it to the next day in a world that institutionally treats us an afterthought»
