65th Annual Red Mass: A legacy of faith and law
St. Mary’s University and School of Law Dean Stephen M. Sheppard, J.S.D., invite members of the legal community from all faiths to join in the celebration of Red Mass, marking the beginning of the judicial and academic year.
The Most Rev. Gustavo García-Siller, M.Sp.S., Archbishop of San Antonio, will be the principal celebrant. The Hon. Kevin Patrick Yeary, Justice of the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, will offer welcome remarks.

Red Mass is a tradition coordinated annually by the St. Mary’s University School of Law, the Catholic Lawyers’ Guild of San Antonio and representatives from San Antonio’s legal organizations, the judiciary and the Texas Legislature.
At 5 p.m., there will be a robing and reception for judicial and legislative attendees in the Fourth Court of Appeals. Judges will join representatives of local legal organizations at the Cathedral. At 5:45 p.m., there will be a solemn processional from the Cadena-Reeves Justice Center to the Cathedral.
