On Sunday, September 15, 1963, four young girls—Addie Mae Collins, Denise McNair, Carol Robertson, Cynthia Wesley—were killed in an explosion at 16th Street Baptist Church, in Birmingham, Alabama. A documentary by Spike Lee, this film retraces the hate crime that sparked outrage and fueled the civil rights movement.
