If you weren't able to attend the Proclamation reading at the Bexar County Commissioner's Court yesterday (5 June), here is another event for you!
Well, we didn't think that it would happen, but apparently it is…
The Mayor and the San Antonio City Council, have invited us/you to attend a reading of the Proclamation in honor of Women Veterans Day.
This will take place on 14 Jun 2018 at 9:00am in City Council Chambers, Municipal Hall.
**Join us in celebrating women Veterans and our sacrifice to this great city and nation.
Wear your WVSA shirts if you have one!
History as to why 12 June was chosen:
On June 12, 1948, President Harry S. Truman signed into law the Woman’s Armed Services Integration Act, allowing women to serve as permanent, regular members of the military. On June 9, 2017 Texas Senate Bill 805 was passed to commemorate the sacrifices of and the valor displayed by Texas women veterans.
