The City of Helotes Dispatch Center is excited to host a second Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) course! The program consists of prerequisite online course work combined with two full days of live classes. The classes will be held at the Helotes Police Department August 18 and August 19, 2018. The classes will run from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day. Upon completion, graduates will receive FEMA and CERT certificates.
The CERT program educates community volunteers about disaster preparedness and trains them in basic disaster response skills. The volunteers learn to respond safely, responsibly, and effectively to emergency situations. The volunteers will learn skills to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters.
