Participants are invited to fully experience cacao's health and environmental benefits in this free, hands-on class on chocolate origins.

Chocolate lovers will emerge with knowledge about cacao farming, bean to bar manufacturing, and chocolate's diverse flavor profiles.

Antioxidant-rich cacao tea is included free along with locally roasted cocoa nibs for purchase. There is a suggested donation of $10.

Mighty beans is a multi-part series about the health benefits of cacao and the conservation practices for sustainable tropical agroforestry.

Guest Speaker: Nathan King, Trinity University, Biology '16

Natha grew up with love for nature and raspberry dark chocolate. Nathan believes that chocolate production can save the world's forests and soils while making people happy and healthy. He lived and worked at an organic cacao farm and bird reserve in Dominican Republic where he developed fermentation protocols for fine flavored cacao. Nathan has been a rapid composter, wine maker, and cacao consultant since 2016.
